How do I add my logo to a template?

We have a whole range of special upload templates where you can upload your own logo or photo. Simply select the upload range for the product you require. You will see a range of templates with either blue graphics, or default images showing where your uploaded file will appear.

Choose the design you like best, you will be taken to the upload designer page. Use the red upload box to upload your image, then enter your text into the fields given and click Update Preview.

Be sure to check that your file is suitable first. Ideally all files should be in CMYK format, particularly if you wish to match one of the other colors on the template. The CMYK breakdown of all our colors can be found on our CMYK palette. We can accept RGB files but cannot guarantee an exact color match.

Logo file should be minimum 300 x 300 pixels (approx. 73 x 73pt at 300dpi).
If your image is not in this proportion, the logo will resize to fit.
If your image has a white background, make sure the white is 0% cyan, 0% magenta, 0% yellow and 0% black, (true white) or it will print pale grey.

Only JPEG, TIFF, EPS and PDF files are suitable for uploading. Word (.doc) and Publisher (.pub) files can be sent to us for conversion to a suitable format.

Logo file should be minimum 477 x 252 pixels (approx. 115 x 61pt at 300dpi).
If your image is not in this proportion, the logo will resize to fit.
If your image has a white background, make sure the white is 0% cyan, 0% magenta, 0% yellow and 0% black, (true white) or it will print pale grey.

Only JPEG, TIFF, EPS and PDF files are suitable for uploading. Word (.doc) and Publisher (.pub) files can be sent to us for conversion to a suitable format.

Logo file should be 283 pixels tall, and up to 1788 pixels wide (68 x 429pt at 300dpi).
The image will scale within the space to fit.

If your image is not in this proportion, the logo will resize to fit.
If your image has a white background, make sure the white is 0% cyan, 0% magenta, 0% yellow and 0% black, (true white) or it will print pale grey.

Photo file should be minimum 471 x 563 pixels (approx. 113 x 135pt at 300dpi).
If your image is not in this proportion, the photo will resize to fit, and the text will fill the available space.
If your image has a white background, make sure the white is 0% cyan, 0% magenta, 0% yellow and 0% black, (true white) or it will print pale grey.
Do not add a white border to your photo - our border is automatic.

Only JPEG, TIFF, EPS and PDF files are suitable for uploading. Word (.doc) and Publisher (.pub) files can be sent to us for conversion to a suitable format.

If your image is not in this proportion, the photo will resize to fit, and the text will fill the available space.
If your image has a white background, make sure the white is 0% cyan, 0% magenta, 0% yellow and 0% black, (true white) or it will print pale grey.

How do I use the letterhead designer page?

We've tried to make the business card designer pages as easy to use as possible.

  1. The text that will appear on your design is in the boxes on the left of the preview - we call them fields. We have prefilled them with some example information. You can enter any information you want into these fields by clicking in them and typing what you want shown on your card. If you don't want some of the information shown, simply delete it and leave the field blank.
  2. To change the look of your text, and the background color for your card, use the boxes on the right of the preview. Just click on the links to choose colors, sizes and text styles.
  3. Now click on the 'Preview' button. In just a few moments we will generate a preview of your design.
  4. You can amend the design and re-preview as many times as you like.
  5. If you are unable to get the template to do exactly what you want, you can use our "Tweak It!" service. Click the box below the preview for more information.
  6. Once you are happy with your design click 'Save and continue'.
  7. If you want something on the back of your cards, choose a suitable template and edit it in the same way as the front, then click 'Save and continue'. The text fields work slightly differently as the text style and color can be different for each field, but the idea is the same. If you just want single sided cards then choose 'No back'.
  8. Review both sides of your card, read the text below the preview, and if you are happy check the checkbox and click 'Continue'.
  9. If you don't proceed to the basket for any reason, your designs will be saved in your 'Recent items' for three days, just click the link at the very top of the page.


SPECIAL CHARACTERS

You can insert special characters, such as special punctuation, mathematical symbols and letters with accent marks by cutting and pasting from our character palette.

Why don't my commas or bullet points show up?

If you type a comma or a bullet at the end of the first address line, our software will put in the rest in all the right places on all of your items - magic!

Our designers don't think that commas at the end of short address lines look right, though, so we have programmed our templates to take them out. If you really want to have them, just type two commas (,,) at the end of each line. Our software will remove the end one, leaving you with the one you want.

On your Windows computer - Microsoft Character Map
This is useful for the unusual accents or symbols. It is located within Windows at Start - Programs - Accessories - Character Map (OR click Start, and Search for Character Map). Find the character you need (you may have to scroll down), select it, copy it, and paste it into the field on our web page.

Textfields on the designer interface

To change the text on your design you need to change the text that is in the fields. Simply click in any of the text fields and make any changes, to remove a field simply remove any text inside that field.

To change the color of your text on the Business Card designer select the small colored square to the right of the designer. This will allow you to change the color of text in set locations, a color popup window will appear where you can choose a suitable color.

To change the color of your text on the Postcard designer, choose the text you wish to change the color of and click on the small colored square under the text field, a color popup window will appear where you can choose a suitable color. Font style and size can be changed per field underneath each of the text fields.

After any text, color or font change you need to update your preview by clicking the button above the preview of your design.

Preview on the designer interface

The preview of your design shows you how it will look when it's printed. After making any text, color or font changes you will have to update your preview before you can continue.

Update your preview by clicking the orange button above the preview. You will see a please wait animation while our system builds a preview of your design. If the animation never finishes please try again by pressing the update preview button again. If problems persist then please report the problem.
